Growth, Rebirth and Ascension are three words that characterize the depth of Berg Beaugé’s music. Iceberg Slim also known as Berg Beaugé is a brilliant artisan of rap who hones his craft with integrity. Berg’s passion for music has led him to a journey starting in 2006 when he first stepped into the scene in which his talent, strife, aspirations and life hardships has led him to create and deliver quality music.
Berg Beaugé’s track "Go again” is reflective to everyday situations and relationships; the sound and style of this track alludes to the mood of Urban Fashion. Check out his MySpace by clicking here and listen to “Go again” by clicking here. His music is lyrically insightful and will elevate your conscious to a new paradigm.
Berg is known as a city nomad and resides in
, the Canadian city where fashion & music collide. “Music is the sound of fashion and fashion is the look of music.” Therefore I couldn’t help but to ask Berg his tips on fashion and how it influences his music: Toronto
Describe your style and name one of your must-have items: Eclectic; a pair of well fitted designer jeans ( not too tight, got to let it breathe), golf shirts and preppy sweaters. Of course dope marvel superhero and old videogame character T-shirts and dope sneakers. I had almost a hundred pairs but I recently sent most of my collection to Haiti. I know I cheated, it's more than one item... call it the Beaugé fashion survival kit.
Describe your flyest fashion moment in high school:
It would have to be when I copped this canary yellow Polo golf jacket with the royal blue logo on the chest. One of my regrets is...I can't remember what happened to it.
What is your perspective on music and fashion? It comes down to how you view yourself. Your residual self image and how you project that into the world. So you gotta be real with yourself, while you dress for yourself or as an artist, you need to keep your creative integrity; You make music for others to listen to and you dress to feel sexy and/or for the actvity you're engaging in for that day. I would say form, functionality and purpose are parallel when it comes to music and fashion. Do it with a purpose or don't do it at all.
What is a fashion DON'T? Men wearing skinny jeans. I hope I don't have to explain this because this sentence just brought up a little vomit in my mouth. Y'all disgust me lol.
What type of music do you listen to? I listen to alot of old Rock and Soul music, some Cuban jazz. I am really into the old Police stuff like "Bed's too big without you", "Walking on the moon" etc. I don't litsen to too many rappers but Drake is dope as well as Kid Cudi,Wale and alot of other artist; there are too many to name. Generally, I'm caught in a music time capsule where a very important element of my creative energy comes from.
What fuels your lyrical quest? My mother is a poet and novelist who has had the University of Minnesota , McMaster U and a few others award her work. However she had seven kids to raise and put her career on the side, Her name is Jacqueline Beaugé Rosier, that's where the Beaugé came from. A mothers love.. a son's passion...one destiny.
I enjoyed Berg Beaugé's witty answers to my questions, he is definitely a creative individual who has a certain light and interprets the theory of our cosmos in a musical way. Bloggers, let me know what you think of Berg and what is a must-have item a fashionable guy should have?
